Carina Trimingham Granted Permission to Appeal

In June I explained at some length why I thought the judgment of Mr Justice Tugendhat was wrong in its approach to her claims for harassment.

I am therefore pleased to see she is appealing and that the Court of Appeal seems to agree that the issues raised need to be considered. According to a predictably excellent piece from the Inforrm Blog, in granting permission to appeal, Lord Justice Laws emphasised that there were “significant issues” as to the Judge’s treatment of the harassment claim.

The Appeal is likely to be heard some time between November 2012 and March 2013. Needless to say, I’ll report on the decision when it is handed down though once again I’ll probably be behind Inforrm.

A fascinating case and I hope she gets a better deal in the Court of Appeal.
